Gerard Mourou, Nobel prize in physics laureate

A stream of light that helps us to understand the nature of matter, store data or for example improve our eyesight. A laser capable of emitting extremelly short and intense pulses. Invented by professor Gerard Mourou, securing him 2018 Nobel Prize in physics. And he keeps improving laser systems, particularly in the international laser center ELI Beamlines which has one of its main sites here in the Czech republic.
