Professor Jerome Friedman was awarded the Nobel Prize for the discovery of quarks – the smallest known particles in nature. He has been working at MIT for 65 years now, and one of his teachers was Enrico Fermi – one of the fathers of the first nuclear reactor and the atomic bomb. What was he like in person?
