Eric Wieschaus, Nobel prize in chemistry laureate

He studied something that he at least for a while hated and literary never wanted to see again - fruitflies. But they helped him receive 1995 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine, specifically for the discoveries concerning genetic control of early embryonic development. He showed which genes influence the development of fruitfly embryos which is also important for understanding the process in human embryos,
