Director of Program and Digital Services Division, Deputy of Director General of ČT

Since October 2011, Milan Fridrich has been responsible for the programming of the channels ČT1, ČT2, ČT :D, and ČT art. Since September 2025, in addition to programming management, he has also been in charge of overseeing ČT’s digital services. His work includes strategic planning, content selection, and oversight of the overall broadcasting concept. Previously, he held various positions at Czech Radio, Hospodářské noviny, and Czech Television, including those of permanent correspondent in Brussels, head of the foreign news desk, anchor, and editor-in-chief. At Czech Television, he served as editor-in-chief of ČT24, head of Studio 6, and then director of news, current affairs, and sports (2007–2010). He subsequently served as executive director of new media for one year.
He received his education at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague and earned an MBA from the Prague Business Institute. He is also a graduate of the course for public service managers at the Eurovision Academy.
Milan Fridrich is the author of several travel books and has regularly contributed to Czech periodicals. He has produced nearly 70 travel documentaries for Czech Television titled “Postřehy odjinud” (Observations from Elsewhere). In addition to his professional career, he is also involved in teaching as an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University and the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics.
In the international context, he has been a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Television Committee since 2023 and served as vice-president of the same committee from 2015 to 2019.
From October 2023 to August 2025, ČT sport also fell under Milan Fridrich’s division, but in September 2025 it was spun off into a separate division.
