Michal Kratochvíl

Michal Kratochvíl has been the director of the Technology Division since 2020.

His professional career began in 1986 at Czechoslovak Television, where he worked as a broadcast technician. He then moved to TV Nova in 1993, where he worked until 1997, initially as a shift supervisor and later as head of studio technology. In 1997, he moved to TV Prima, where he served as Director of Technology until 2006. He then held the same position at TV Barrandov until 2012.

He returned to Czech Television in 2013, where he first worked as Chief Technologist and, from 2017 to 2020, as Executive Director of Technology. Under his leadership, Czech Television successfully transitioned to the new DVB-T2 broadcasting standard, which represented a key step in the modernization of television broadcasting. As Director of the Technology Division, he is responsible for the overall management and development of the television station’s technical infrastructure. His many years of experience and expertise are key to the success and innovation of the technological aspects of Czech Television’s broadcasting.

He received his education at Metropolitan University Prague.
