Hynek Chudárek

Director General of ČT

Hynek Chudárek

Hynek Chudárek joined Czech Television in 2012 as commercial director. During his tenure, the company ceased working with an external agency in 2013 and established an in-house commercial department at Czech Television, whose primary focus is the sale of commercial formats, namely advertising, sponsorship, and product placement.

Hynek Chudárek received his education at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. After the revolution, he co-founded a company specializing in the production of CD and DVD media and was also a shareholder in the company. In 2002, he founded and co-owned the music television station Óčko, where, as a shareholder, he served as a member of the board of directors and managing director. Under his leadership, the station successfully established itself as a music television channel with a clearly defined target audience and programming. He also actively participated in the digitization process during the transition from analog to digital broadcasting.

On June 25, 2025, the Czech Television Council elected Hynek Chudárek as Director General of Czech Television. He took the helm of the public broadcaster for a six-year term on July 1, 2025.
