He's the man who was there - during the last days of the MIR space station as well as the early days of the International Space Station. He was a member of the first crew that started the project of uninterrupted human presence around Earth that continues to this day. He is the first Russian to fly a spaceshuttle, he spent a total of 803 days, nine hours and 38 minutes in space.
