Jiří Mádl – Monk Cyril

Born in Budejovice, Czech Republic in 1986, Jirí Mádl is currently studying at Jan Amos Komensky University in Prague and was a student of The Episcopal Grammar School (Biskupské gymnázium).He writes scripts, plays and songs, and is interested in psychology, astrology and graphology.Occasionally he has acted in youth theatre and one of his plays won a drama competition.He currently performs at South Bohemian Theatre (Jihočeské divadlo).

He became a young star after the movie Snowboarders (Snowboarďáci)¸ and later he acted in How To Tame The Crocodiles (Jak se krotí krokodýli), Raftsmen (Rafťáci), Head First, Ass After (Po hlavě do prdele) and The Ro©k Con Artists (Ro(c)k podvraťáků).

In the film Bathory, monks Petr and Cyril are not real historical characters, but fictive ones. Monk Petr and novice Cyril come to Čachtice because cardinal Forgách charged them with monitoring Cachtice castle. The two monks thus have a role of detectives, too.
