Film character
In the period when Erzsebet stayed in Cachtice castle, the village definitely has a mayor, but we do not know who it was from the historical sources. Therefore the character of village mayor and his actions are only the director's fiction. The mayor directs the life in Cachtice, he witnesses revealing of Erzsebet's alleged crimes; he actually comments on events happening in Čachtice castle and around in the film.
