How to tune in to Czech Television programs from abroad

Czech Television programs (ČT1, ČT2, ČT24, ČT sport, ČT :D/art, ČT1 JM, ČT1 SM, ČT1 JZC and ČT1 SVC) along with additional services can be received in various ways. This is the result of searching for possible ways to get the programs to the viewer in the greatest possible scope and quality under current technical and economic conditions on the telecommunications market. So how do you tune in to ČT programs? First, choose the method of receiving the television signal. You have terrestrial, satellite or Internet broadcasting available.

Czech Television programs are now available from several satellites. The ČT24 program can be received from these satellites free of charge and without a decoding card. To receive other programs from the Astra 3B satellite, a CryptoWorks decoding card is required.

The need to use a decoding card is caused by the fact that Czech Television only purchases copyrights for broadcasting in the Czech Republic, and therefore must ensure that its programs cannot be received abroad. The technical means for this purpose isdecoding card.

After purchase, the card will provide access to programs for 1 month. In order to continue receiving, it must be registered with its distributor. Registration is also subject to payment of concession fees and receipt in the Czech Republic.

The only exception is some Slovak cable television operators who, as members of "cable associations", are authorized to broadcast Czech Television programs in Slovakia based on the EBU agreement with Czech Television.

Some of our programs are also available via internet broadcasting.
