News and Sports Archive Licensing
Founded in 1953, Czech Television boasts an extensive archive spanning a wide range of programme types and genres. Whether you are a filmmaker looking for archival footage to enrich your project, or a researcher in the field of audiovisual history, we are here to help you find exactly what you need.
Please note that Czech Television's archive material falls into two categories: news and sports footage, and rights-protected programmes (dramas, documentaries, entertainment, etc.). Licensing of news and sports footage is handled by our Production Services department, while other programme content is managed by our sister department Telexport.
Studios, Equipment & Production Services
Czech Television provides a comprehensive set of studios, facilities, and technical equipment for hire to external clients across film, television, advertising, and news.
Our production studios range from 120 to 560 m² and come with full backstage support. We also operate professional music recording and mixing studios (including a certified Dolby mixing hall), a dedicated foley studio, and several voiceover suites as well as fully equipped post-production suites offering video editing, colour correction, and film scanning up to 5K.
For on-location shoots, we offer a wide range of professional equipment for hire, including film cameras, sound recording gear, and lighting.
We also operate a professional film laboratory specialising in the processing, cleaning, and duplication of 16mm and 35mm film. Our digitisation services cover 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm film scanning up to 5K, as well as conversion from a wide range of legacy magnetic formats including VHS, U-matic, Betacam, and others.
We provide technical support for live news broadcasts from our studios — with a direct fibre connection to the EBU distribution network — as well as from the field via SNG trucks or LiveU technology.
Additionally, we produce custom video spots and promotional content, including voiceover recording, language localisation, and technical adaptation of audiovisual works to meet broadcast standards.
