A full-length animated film based on the fables of Jean de La Fontaine.The eight fables from the animal world are set in the attractive context of a grand variety show – a sort of parallel to the Film Academy Oscar-awarding ceremony. The animal audience in a natural amphitheatre are looking forward to the presentation of the fables entered for the contest. As the magnificent show is relayed in a live broadcast, we can also observe the work of the television crew, headed by Badger the director. Platypus in the role of chief entertainer gradually presents all the competing fables. In terms of design, each of the stories represents a different genre (musical, thriller, burlesque, western, sci-fi story), each employing characteristic means of expression and all filled with poeticism. The film includes a large number of songs, and a combination of several animation techniques was used in its production..
