The second part of a loose series appearing under the title “Victims”, this time describing a case of concealed, unreported rape and its aftermath. Angelica is an attractive young woman, living happily with her loving husband and his daughter from his first marriage. There is only one cloud on the bright sky of their marriage – Angelica cannot manage to conceive. But then comes a silly company party, after which she is raped by a drunken colleague. She is deeply shocked, but does not report the incident nor does she confide in anybody. She only reacts by immediately handing in her notice ... and soon finds out that she is pregnant. At first she contemplates abortion, but finally decides to keep the child. Her husband, totally unsuspecting, is thrilled. Angelica finds it difficult to bear his joy, but tries her best to continue living “normally” for the sake of her husband and by now two children. One day her husband however receives an anonymous letter, leaves home and commits suicide. Angelica finds herself in a hopeless situation from which there seems to be no escape. Her mother has little sympathy for her problem, her mother-in-law and father-in-law blame her for the death of their son. Angelica tries to come to terms with what has happened, and visits the psychologist whom his husband used to consult. Perhaps she will come to understand what drove her husband to suicide, and whether she herself should feel responsible for the tragedy.
