A two-part television film inspired by real events that could reoccur at any time. At the end of the 2012 summer holidays, the Czech Republic was rocked by an event of a type that neither detectives nor lawyers had ever seen. Within a few weeks alcohol produced from a mix of ethanol and highly poisonous methanol killed at least 38 people and seriously poisoned at least 80 others. However, the concoction had the “potential” to cause 158,000 deaths. Film 1 – Liquid Death Ruda works at a firm that makes washer fluid and is facing the sack. This drives him to try extra hard to impress dodgy dealer Malota with a plan to slash the price of the spirits mix he sells under the counter… Cleaner Iveta has trouble with her mother. Cheap booze from the stand around the corner offers temporary relief from her everyday problems… Film 2 – 10,000 Litres Captain Hálek, who likes a quiet life, is charged with investigating a case with the highest number of victims and indictments since 1989. How quickly can he and his coarse colleague Zakopal find the murderer in form of 10,000 litres of a poisonous alcohol mix and make sure the deaths stop?
