This comedy with serious consequences tells about an American of Czech origin who returns to his old country after the Velvet Revolution in order to find himself a Czech wife, take over the family property the communist regime had confiscated his grandfathers small hotel and to settle down in Bohemia. After various humorous and dramatic situations he finds a girl of Czech origin, but she was born in the United States. He manages to renovate the hotel but at the cost of a partnership with a shady firm and finally he finds that instead of having created a nice little hotel, he is running a house of ill repute. But despite all the problems he meets with, he decides to stay in Bohemia for good.
