During the communist era, Petr Kolář founded his first architectural studio. The fall of the Iron Curtain and the boom of business have come, and in the past 30 years, he has reached the top of world architecture. He created a luxury hotel resort for the most demanding clientele on an abandoned coral island in the Maldives. In 2014, the resort won the highest prize at the International Hotel Awards for the implementation of Velaa Private Island Maldives and a year later the Luxury Travel Guide Awards. But Petr Kolář is most happy that everything on the island is working even after almost ten years because good architecture is the most important thing to him. Behind Peter are the projects of the National Olympic Houses, in London or Pyeongchang, the new Saba Rock sports center is being built on hurricane-damaged buildings in an iconic location of the British Virgin Islands. All his works are inspired by functionalism and lights.
