A poetic look at the slowly disappearing world of village musicians.Amateur musicians have always been a traditional part of country life and its rituals: christenings, funerals, and, of course, regular pub dances. Using both irony and a nostalgic touch, the film captures the atmosphere of these celebrations and the joy of their main protagonists--the musicians and their listeners. The director's eye for detail has helped him create a colorful gallery of distinctive people, including an old woman who brings her accordion to the pub on a sled, an ex-teacher who rediscovers and performs forgotten compositions, as well as a host of pub regulars.
