Catalogue of Czech Television Programmes
This film follows the fortunes and destinies of several people who frequent Prague’s Konvikt Café (October 1998 through January 2000). We meet colorful and weird Prague characters - a poet, a university professor and his theories, a street sweeper, an astrologist, a transvestite . . . and even an ordinary couple living in a small town. Their reflections, sometimes more, sometimes less articulate, and even their silences create a kaleidoscope of the past year „under the spell of occasional moments“ and momentous occasions. Every human being, even one who seems plainest, is special, a creator of both ordinary and extraordinary days. And who are we to determine what is ordinary and what is not?
