A unique documentary on the preparation and execution of Bedřich Smetana’s set of symphonic poems Má vlast (My Country) by a renowned conductor and the Staatskapelle Berlin and Wiener Philharmoniker orchestras Pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim, one of the most important musicians in the world today, decided to produce Smetana’s Má vlast with two orchestras: Staatskapelle Berlin and the Vienna Philharmonic. The Vienna Philharmonic, an orchestra founded in 1842, is considered one of the finest in the world. The complete Má vlast has only be produced five times in its history. This is therefore a rare event.
