A poetic fairy tale involving wisdom, romantic love and the traditional struggle between good and evil.King Henry is against the love which has sprung up between his daughter Doubravka and Tomás the gardener. He likes Tomás as he’s the son of his former armor-bearer, a man who laid down his life in battle for the king. But Tomás is not nobly born and on top of that he’s exceedingly kind-hearted. According to the king a ruler must be stern. The majestic Prince Artus would be a much more suitable match for the princess. And moreover he is also able to converse with echoes. Tomás and Doubravka defend their love, but if it weren’t for the flower nymph, nurse Anna and the old gamekeeper who knows how things might have turned out.
