A fairy-tale story about the adventures of a devil apprentice and a young witch who decide to right the wrongs in the world of people.One day while in hell, devil apprentice Vašek discovers a pair of magic boots that can transport him to the human world. But on Earth he quickly loses the boots and thus cannot return to hell. Vašek does not actually regret this very much. He likes it on Earth and quickly befriends some local boys, whose human mischief is nothing new to him. Yet the bizarre order and injustice instituted in one village by a local landowner and his steward do not please Vašek in the least. He decides to do something about it. But it is not that easy because the landowner and the steward are crafty sinners and Vašek was not exactly the best student at devil magic school. His beloved Běta the witch, however, lends a hand, as does hell which hasn’t forgotten its apprentice. In the end, all end up where they belong and each gets what he deserves—just as it should be in every true fairy tale.
