The central theme of the film are complicated interpersonal relations, selfishness and obsession. The protagonist is a successful psychologist experiencing the crisis of middle age. The story is an ironic-verging-on-bizarre example of how a clandestine love affair of one man can play havoc with the life of another. In an effort to help his best friend in dealing with the latter´s complicated relationship, the psychologist triggers off a flood of events which leave wreck and ruin in his own life.
