The story of two friends, pitted against one another through jealousy, whose relationship suffers a chance blow at the hands of fate.Ruth and Magda have been inseparable friends since childhood. Both get accepted to university and both fall in love with the same boy, Adam. Ruth wins his favor and Magda struggles between her friendship to Ruth and her love for Adam. Adams dream is to apply for a study stay abroad and when he gets it he eagerly leaves for Austria. Ruth hides from him the fact that she is expecting his child, and though he asks her to go with him the regime denies her permission to leave. Soon enough Ruth persuades Magda to go find Adam in order to convince him to return. But Magda takes advantage of the situation: she accepts the indifferent Adams pointed offers and the two get married abroad. Years later Magda returns home, old wrongs are reawakened, and past history can finally be brought to a close.
