A slapstick comedy about a family and its Skritek A country family moves to the city for a better life. The FATHER works as a butcher at a slaughterhouse. The MOTHER is a cashier at a hypermarket.Their DAUGHTER goes to elementary school but technical subjects dont interest her. Shes the worst student in her class and her problems with her TEACHER are never-ending.The SON studies at a food services vocational school because his FATHER expects him to become a butcher too. The SON, however, is a vegetarian anarchist who loves to smoke marijuana. He is permanently at odds with his strict SCHOOL SUPERVISOR, his FATHER, and the POLICE as well. It all becomes too much for the FATHER, especially after he himself starts burning with lust for an attractive young female BUTCHER. The MOTHER tries everything to win her husband back:a new hairstyle, expensive lingerie, psychotherapy, but her husband has completely lost interest in her, and he moves in with the young BUTCHER. With her whole world collapsing, the MOTHER seeks revenge against the young BUTCHER. On top of everything else, a SKRITEK further messes things up with a magic wand that laces every serious situation with absurdity and humor. Only the DAUGHTER understands the SKRITEKs irrational world, just as, of course, only the SKRITEK understands hers. Like the silent films of old, the story unfolds entirely without words. Funny music, sound effects, and exclamations replace language as we know it. The film is a rich cascade of gags, sketches and tragicomic situations, including a wild police chase and a surprise ending. As director Tomas VOREL dares to claim: There isnt a moment in the film when the viewer isnt laughing or crying. In its simplicity, playfulness and visual rendering, the film can be understoodby each and every moviegoer in the world....
