A recording of the premiere of a new production of Leoš Janáčeks most famous opera, presented at the Janáček Opera, Brno in cooperation with the State Opera, Vienna.The opera is set in a Moravian village in the early 20th century, and presents the dramatic story of lovely Jenufa, her foster mother Kostelnička and her step-brothers Števa and Laco - a story about jealousy, pride, guilt, punishment and the final victory of love.The production is directed by David Pountney the famous opera stage director, with Anja Silja in the role of Kostelnička.
