Story about a Bad Dream, A

O zlém snu

An unusual semi-documentary touching on the themes of the Holocaust, war, and human will and bravery manifest under difficult circumstances. For children 12 and older. The film brings to life the authentic diary of a 13-year-old girl named Eva who was the only member of her family to survive the hell of the Holocaust. Using Eva's straightforward words (in addition to archive materials, authentic drawings, and supplementary dramatized scenes), the film tells a incredibly moving story. For reasons Eva could barely understand, she had to leave her beloved home for a concentration camp, and then lost her mother during a final death march. She herself was saved only at the last moment by villagers who risked their own lives to save her. Thanks to it simplicity, the film is able to explainboth to children and adults who are not yet familiar with this dark episode in our history--the essential nature of the Holocaust and its true meaning.
