Serving as a prologue to the 48th Golden Prague International Television Festival on
Saturday, October 15th Czech Television Day will again be devoted to music, which visitors
will be able to experience in all its varieties. Between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. the Žofín Palace
and its surrounding area will be the venue for a rich programme complemented by a number
of supplementary activities. Children and grown-ups alike will have the chance to experience
various genres of music and dance styles, to enjoy their favourite Večerníček cartoons and to
join in competitions. The whole day will be hosted by Jan Adámek, the moderator of Wizard
Tom’s Mysteries, one of Czech Television‘s most popular children’s shows.
Children and their parents too will have a chance to sing along with composer Jaroslav
Uhlíř. The Martina and Kristyna dance group will entertain everyone with their musical fairy
tale programme, Fairy Tale Theatre, a show full of songs and charming fairy tales. You
can see Latin-American dance professionals. And finally in the Hall of Knights, you can take
part in various competitions with prizes from Czech Television. Additionally there will be
face painting and gingerbread decoration lessons.
In the area around the Žofín Palace you may also meet Křemílek and Vochomůrka,
Večerníček, Bob and Bobek and Maxipes Fík, characters from the classic evening children's
animated program . You will have the opportunity to buy books and DVDs published by
Czech Television. And should you want at least a few moments of rest during this chock-
full programme, you can visit our projection area where we will be showing some of your
favourite Večerníček cartoons throughout the day.
