About the Festival
"The World of Music and Dance is Within Your Reach"
ITF Golden Prague has been the only festival continuously organized, produced and financed by the Czechoslovak and later Czech Television since 1964. In addition to the Prix Italia and the Rose d’Or the ITF Golden Prague ranks among the oldest television festivals on the European continent. After a series of transformations it is currently being profiled as the world´s most unique and prestigious festival featuring the world's best music and dance television programmes and films in all musical genres. Today the ITF Golden Prague is a unique and prestigious showcase of TV productions, presenting the world's best music and dance programmes in all musical genres where the basic premise is high artistic quality. It is an annual inspiring gathering of filmmakers, producers, experts and the general public, a place of discovery and a competitive confrontation of the best of what has been produced in this field.
Despite the ongoing financial crisis there were 96 programmes from 22 countries around the world entered in the international competition in 2010 which is more than a ten per cent increase on 2009. Together with an increasing number of registered participants from the professional and the general public from home and abroad it confirms the growing appeal of a unique festival. In recent festivals we have welcomed a number of significant world Directors and Choreographers who have presented in person the best of their artistic work - H. Burton, P. Weigl, B. Large, Ch. Bruce, B. Gavin, N.Duato, H.Hulscher, J. Kylián, M. Ek amongst others.
We are glad that you found the October date convenient last year and we hope that you will kindly accept our invitation again this year for October 15-19, 2011 in the beautiful Zofin Palace.
