Dokument Martina Kubaly zachycuje s hlubokým lidským porozuměním svět vynikající
evropské tanečnice bez toho, aby ho zásadně stylizoval. Nedémonizuje dřinu baletního
povolání a nedopouští se jiných podobných klišé. Základním tématem je běh času, z něhož
se Daria Klimentová vymaňuje svou racionalitou, s níž řeší rodinné i pracovní vztahy a
rozšiřuje si profesní obory. Jde o nenápadné, ale hluboké poselství dokumentu, který
nekáže, neformuluje, ale dává příklad plně žitého života. A to vše na pozadí vysoce
stylizovaného světa klasického baletu.
Reasons:
Martin Kubala’s documentary film captures the world of this outstanding European dancer
with deep human understanding but without preconceived stereotypes. He does not
demonize the drudgery of the ballet profession, nor does he fall for other similar clichés.
The basic theme is the swift passage of time, and Daria Klimentová escapes from it by
taking a rational approach to managing family and work relations and to expanding her
professional activities. The documentary has an unobtrusive but profound mission which
avoids preaching and formulating but instead offers an example of a life lived to the full.
And all this against the background of the highly stylized world of classical ballet.

Pořad televize BBC Classical Music Television Liverpool Nativity – Liverpoolské zrození
skvěle propojil velkou tradici liverpoolské populární hudby s jedním z největších příběhů
všech dob, který má dnes stejnou platnost jako před 2000 lety. Tvůrci ho dokázali ztvárnit
nepateticky, s citlivou aktualizací a dokonalým využitím soudobé televizní techniky.
Reasons:
Television Programme Liverpool Nativity does a fabulous job of linking the long tradition of
popular music in Liverpool with one of the most wonderful stories of all times, one that has
just as much relevance today as it did 2000 years ago. The creators succeeded in
producing a sensitive but unsentimentalized update making marvellous use of current
television techniques.

S živým vyprávěním a smyslem pro humor nabízí tento dokument průnik do dílny Jormy
Panuly, znamenitého učitele, který vychoval celou generaci mladých finských dirigentů.
Panulovým cílem je povzbuzovat studenty tak, aby rozvíjeli svoji osobitost spíše, než aby
vytvářeli přesnou kopii svého pedagoga. Dokonalý televizní střih velice přispěl k tomu, co
pak porota vnímala jako přirozený, volně plynoucí a vysoce zábavný film.

With a fresh narrative and sense of humour, this documentary offers an insight into the
work of the unique teacher Jorma Panula who has spawned an entire generation of young
Finnish conductors and whose goal is to encourage students to develop individuality rather
than creating clones of himself. The skillful editing greatly contributed to what the jury
felt was a natural, free-flowing and very enjoyable film.

Tvůrcům dokumentárního filmu o vztahu dirigenta Herberta von Karajan k filmu a televizi
se podařilo vedle samotného zmapování této oblasti, a to s maximální profesionalitou a ve
výborném rytmu, vyslovit několik zásadních témat a otázek. Vedle dalšího pohledu na
dirigentovu osobnost, nastolil otázky o vztahu vážné hudby a televize. Film je zároveň
cenným historickým pohledem, ale i nostalgickým ohlédnutím za dobou, kdy peníze nebyly
tím zásadním limitem pro zachycení špičkových interpretů své doby.

the film and television have managed to express the principal themes and issues regarding
the relationship between classical music and television. At the same time the film provides
valuable historical and nostalgic insight into the era when money was not the decisive limit
for shooting the outstanding performers of their time.

Porota byla uchvácena inscenováním tohoto mistrovského Wagnerova díla na Festivalu
v Glyndebourne v roce 2007 režisérem Nikolausem Lehnhoffem jakožto světelné
dramaturgie. Vynikající obsazení v čele Ninou Stemme a Robertem Gambillem i televizní
režie Thomase Grimma vykonaly báječnou práci, která přinesla moderní, abstraktní
inscenaci na televizní obrazovku. Neméně byli členové poroty okouzleni dokonalým
dirigováním velkého českého mistra Jiřího Bělohlávka.

Grand Prix letošního festivalu Zlatá Praha patří Baladě pro Edvarda Griega a to vzhledem k
celkově znamenitému zpracování. Je to velmi úspěšný pokus zachytit ducha mistrovské
skladby – Balady g moll.

The Grand Prix of this year´s Golden Prague Festival goes to The Ballad for Edvard Grieg
because of its overall excellence. It is the successful attempt to reach the heart of a
masterpiece, the Ballad in G-minor.
