40 INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION FESTIVAL GOLDEN PRAGUE

About the Festival

International Television Festival GOLDEN PRAGUE - ITF GOLDEN PRAGUE - one of the eldest and most prestigious television festivals: its first edition was held in 1964. Only Prix Italia (established 1949) and Monte Carlo and Montreaux (both established in 1961) can boast with longer tradition.

The jubilee 40th edition of the ITF Golden Prague will take part in May 2003.

Initially, the ITF Golden Prague was opened only to TV production in all genres, in the last decade was dedicated entirely to music programmes and became the place of creative confrontation of producers, directors and script editors from the whole world. ITF Golden Prague is also the place where new contacts among Eastern TV stations and producers with outstanding western European and American TV producers arise. This is the main reason why is the ITF Golden Prague unique in comparison with other festivals.

An interest in the ITF Golden Prague is still ascending: in the 39th edition 650 delegates took part from 27 countries (including significant representatives of international organizations and key personalities from the commercial distribution of TV programmes field).

There were 103 programmes submitted to the competition section, 12 programmes to the non-competition section from 25 countries and 57 organisations.
