Báthory in the Guinness book of world records
"The most number of victims attributed to one murderess is 650 people who were killed by the Hungarian Countess Erzsebeth Bathory (1560-1614). During the trial against her, which began 2 January 1611, one witness testified that he saw the list of victims written by her own hand. All the victims were reportedly young ladies from the villages around her castle, Cachtice, in Slovakia. It is in that same castle where she also died 21 August 1614, after having been found guilty and spending three and a half years walled into a tower."
