Lucie Vondráčková – Lucie

The Czech actress and singer was born in Prague in 1980, where she also studied at the Academy of Dramatic Arts. At the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague, Lucie majored in Theory of Culture and graduated with the title of Doctor of Philosophy.

Lucie first appeared on stage at the National Theatre (Národní divadlo) in The Satin Slipper (Saténový střevíček) at the age of 12. She is a member of Prague's Rokoko theatre, where she was a guest performer while a student at the Academy - her first part was Shakespeare's Julia. Other theatre performances in Prague include the musical Excalibur at the Ta Fantastika theatre and the musical Secret (Tajemství) at the Kalich theatre. Lucie continues her work in theatre and gives guest performances at the Theatre Kašpar, as well as other stages predominantly in Prague.

In addition to two previous roles for Jakubisko, An Ambiguous Report About the End of the World (Nejasná zpráva o konci světa) and Post Coitum, Lucie's filmography includes such titles as Pictures from Jan Neruda's Life (Obrazy ze zivota Jana Nerudy), Heaven Tears (Nebeské slzy), Flaming Spring (Ohnivé jaro), Lions Live Here (Tady žijí lvi), Snowboarders (Snowboarďáci), and the Czech fairy tales Gee Granny, Magic! (Šmankote, babičko, čaruj!) and Magic Arrow (Kouzelný šíp).Lucie has released a total of seven CDs since her first at the age of 12, the latest one titled Boomerang.

Maid Lucie is a fictive character. She was born in the settlement around Čachtice castle, her mother was a publican. As a little girl she meets Erzsébet Báthory, who promises her that once Lucie is an adult, she will be her maid. Erzsébet fulfils her promise and Lucie becomes one of her most devoted maids and governess of her children.
